Abstract: While the accounts of the construction of the sanctuaries at Delphi, Epidaurus and Delos are the only documents to give prices for the timber used in the building process, they do not lend themselves to statistical serialization. On the other hand, they make it possible to better define the economic context surrounding the harnessing of local, regional and more distant resources, the transportation and the marketing of the different species as well as their use by carpenters, joiners, and furniture makers.
