This article is a follow up to a lecture given at Ensan in 2018. It raises the question of the relations between representation and immersion while seeking, beyond the solely technological aspects related to technologies that integrate into a multiplicity of points of view like VR, to bring out the cultural and philosophical foundations of such a difference. This is an attempt at an archeology of immersion.
