This article examines a new hermeneutical paradigm used by readers of Teresa of Ávila in Italy. Ranging from divine to erotic, Teresa’s works were released from 1982 to 1999 by the publisher Sellerio in Palermo thanks to Leonardo Sciascia and Angelo Morino. The works draw an unprecedented portrait of Teresa: nonconformist and precise, secular and spiritual, faithful to mystical exegesis and linguistic customs.
