La jalousie proustienne : « faculté pitoyable » ou « faculté royale » de la bêtise ?

  • Publication type: Article from a collective work
  • Collective work: Cent ans de jalousie proustienne
  • Author: Darabi Amin (Mina)
  • Abstract: Swann’s jealousy is interpreted here in the light of the Deleuzian concept of “bêtise”. In his efforts to prove Odette’s infidelity, Swann drifts towards irrationality. But Deleuze shows that the “faculté pitoyable” of stupidity can become “royale” – and this is the path the narrator will follow.
