The aim of this article is to show that Les Amours jaunes can be understood in terms of an aesthetic of the “blow”, dealt in both a rhythmical and in an ethical sense: this is Tristan Corbière’s particular mode of expression, in which he strives to dismantle the phrase structure of his language, which is an inversion of Romantic models, by associating it with a logic of bad taste and defectiveness.
