In this text, Jean-Pierre Lassalle questions Ducasse’s choice to bring the Vendôme Column and the Pantheon closer together in his work. He quotes the works of François Caradec and Alain Jouffroy. The latter compares the itinerary of the remains of Michel Le Peletier de Saint-Fargeau, a politician assassinated in 1793, with Mervyn's, observing that they seem to have followed a similar trajectory. Ducasse could have read this story in La Démagogie en 1793 à Paris by Charles-Aimé Dauban, published in 1868.
