On November 22, 1935, the troupe of the Théâtre de l’Athénée staged Supplément au voyage de Cook, to follow on from La Guerre de Troie n’aura pas lieu. This play was only occasionally performed around the time of its creation, and remains completely absent from the modern theater repertoire. What is the reason for the misfortune of this play, and has it, after all, given rise to some successful attempts at staging?
