Situated between literary theater and light comedy, the plays of Jean Giraudoux and Marcel Achard are often placed in a realist framework, tending toward dreaming and lyricism. Besides these similarities, the two authors also both collaborated with Louis Jouvet between 1928 and 1938, which stimulated their writing and led both of them toward public and critical success. The two authors also, in turn, contributed in different ways to the success of this theater producer, director, and actor.
