Foreword Bayonne as a center of Giraudoux studies

The reception of Giraudoux’s work has passed through a number of distinct stages. However, the international impact of this work has remained strong, which has particularly been manifested in the regular occurrence of an itinerant international conference. Bayonne is now one of these centers of Giraudoux studies: the present volume gathers together the work of the researchers who met in this city in June 2018 in order to study the success of Giraudoux’s plays on the stage, from their creation up to the present day.
