The dissemination of Floire and Blanchefleur in France in the 16^th century Editorial market and publication strategies

The dissemination of the tale of Floire and Blanchefleur in the Francophone context during the second half of the sixteenth century is based on two European traditions: Adrien Sevin’s translation of Boccaccio’s Filocolo and Jacques Vincent’s translation of an anonymous Spanish prose text from the end of the fifteenth century. This article examines the editorial procedures (peritext, layout, new editions) that adapt these two versions for their new audience(s).
