From the prose poem Les Vocations, the character of the person no-one understands, who can be drawn closer to Baudelaire, is considered under many perspectives, as a passage from Paradis artificiels shows. The many types of incomprehension, which he suffered and the misunderstandings he gave rise to (Baudelaire bohème, Baudelaire drug, Baudelaire modern) are evoked and commented. The incapacity to figure out the contradiction in his work seems to explain the present situation still reserved to Baudelaire.
