Alexandre Dumas père’s writings have not all been gathered together in his complete works. Prefaces, hunting stories, and scènes de moeurs, published by the novelist relatively late in his career, reveal events and characters overlooked by biographers. This small anthology is preceded by an introduction that sheds light on the context in which these rediscovered texts were written and printed and identifies the people described in them.
